Storytelling Project

In 2009 we were awarded a grant of £2000 from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) to develop storytelling sessions inspired by items from our collections. We employed a professional storyteller to develop three stories based on the following themes:

• the story of Grace Darling and her heroic rescue of passengers from the ship "The Forfarshire"
  
• the story of William Winter and Winter's Gibbet at Elsdon, Northumberland
• ghosts and ghouls

We have been running regular storytelling sessions at Woodhorn and are now looking to incorporate some of the content developed as part of this project in our education offer at Woodhorn.
