The Liveliest of Elements
17th October - 1st November 2015
A shared passion for peat provided the impetus for a collaboration between artist Laura Harrington and physical scientist Jeff Warburton (Durham University). Their joint project focusses on Moss Flats, an upland peat flat in the North Pennines, and involved an exploration of the dynamic and lively ecosystem through moving image, words and sound. This unique environment was re-imagined for an underground space within Woodhorn Museum.
This was produced in partnership with: Woodhorn Museum, Arts Council England, The Leverhulme Trust, Durham University, The North Pennines AONB Partnership and developed in collaboration with Invisible Dust.
