Traces and Graces

During 2009-2010 we have been working with The European Players Theatre Company and Greater Morpeth Development Trust on their Heritage Lottery funded "Traces and Graces" project. The project relates to the history of Whalton Manor House, parts of which date back to the 17th century. The house and garden were substantially altered in 1908 with designs by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll. The project has revealed new source material about Whalton Manor. Details of some of this material can be found in our e-catalogue. At the heart of the project was a theatrical performance in the garden of Whalton Manor that told the story of some of the history of the house and its’ occupants.
